Each person has their individual preferences. Some people like their partners to be younger and some prefer the opposite. From my experience, I found it common that men would prefer their ladies to be younger and fortunately women also find older men more to their liking. There are many reasons why a woman would rather date an older man than a younger one. Older men are generally more mature, calmer, more stabilized and women feel they can be protected and taken care of. I am not saying that young men do not have those qualities. This is just a generalized idea that many women have about older men. If you are also interested in dating an older man, could you possibly do it the same way as dating someone your age? Dating older men certainly requires some specific techniques as older men usually have their specific requirements.

Older men generally take a liking for self confident woman – be happy with yourself. Once you are happy with yourself your self-confidence will start to radiate outwards. You’re looking for an older man because he’s mature, but he wants someone who is equally mature. Feel free to speak out your opinions. It’s a misconception that older men only want a Barbie doll, they want someone to share their life and opinions with. Don’t shy away from a good debate, just don’t argue.

Have a life of your own - always be smiling, having a zest for life. Be upbeat. A lot of women prefer an older man, because he’s interesting. He has so much life experience to talk about. But don’t forget, he wants someone to stay with him that interests him as well. Don’t cling to him all the time. Live your own life to the fullest and share the details with him. Show him your walk off life.

Always be positive! – Older men want their women to be full of life. They want you to contribute positivity to the relationship. Don’t just look young, act young! And we are not talking about wearing your daughters’ clothes. Think positive and show a lust for life. Call it bubbly if you will, but he loves someone who looks like she can take on the world any day.

Give them the rein of the relationship - don't be too aggressive, let them lead you. At their age they like to take the upper hand as they are more experienced than you are. It has nothing to do with your capability or a reflection on your abilities. Men, especially when they get holder simply have a genetic drive to take care of you. Moreover they will treat you like a lady. When I asked older men “what qualities you have in order to be a good partner”? most of them say “I can be responsible for the woman’s life”.

Don’t show your affection in public places - they are not very comfortable with it. Older men are inclined to be more reserved in public and quite demonstrative of their affection in private. Don't fret if he doesn't hug or kiss you at the street corners or when you are out with him. 

It is no secret that men like women that look young, whether it comes from their exterior or their behavior. But these are just appearances. Most of all men want a woman that is mentally their equal. Older men are no different. You might be easily fooled in thinking he just loves a pretty young thing. In reality he’d love to have a meaningful conversation too! Especially for older men a woman who can hold her own is attractive. A wise and active personally that can take care of herself, but who needs a strong hug once in a while. That’s what he really wants.
