Situating in Sukhumvit soi 31, which is the street where I have to drive passed every day on the way home, Appia, caused regular craving to my empty stomach every evening. On our first visit, we were turned down as the restaurant was fully booked, so we had to settle for the Somtam restaurant on the opposite side of the road.
Our second attempt with booking reservation proved fruitful as we managed to secure an “early table.” We ordered the widely recommended Porchetta (หมูกรอบสามชั้น), it was crispy outside with succulent stuffing of rosemary, garlic, pollen, and fennel – a total divine. But my number one favorite is the 45-min waiting list long-roasted lamb ribs marinated in garlic, rock salt and rosemary. This is the must have menu, and it made me want to go back time and time again.
After countless of dinner and lunch at Appia, we have also recently discovered the best salad in town. The zucchini salad is simple, elegant and like a cool breeze in the summer.
